IRRIGATION DESIGNER
This position entails the development of conceptual irrigation strategies, advancing these strategies through design and construction documents, coordinating with clients/agencies and irrigation contractors. Project involvement will include a wide variety of project types including small park renovation designs for cities to large scale corridor designs for major freeways throughout Southern California. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design of landscape and irrigation improvements ranging in construction budgets from a few thousand dollars to multi-million dollars.
Preferred Experience:
Minimum of an undergraduate degree in landscape architecture.
A minimum of five to ten years of experience in the field of landscape architecture irrigation design.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD (MicroStation is a plus).
Experience preparing construction documents including specifications and estimating.
Responsibilities:
Be able to legally work in California.
Coordinate with project leaders to develop irrigation solutions for various project types.
Be responsible for production and coordination of irrigation drawings and specifications, including consultant coordination.
Be able to work on a variety of projects simultaneously.
Working out in the field during construction to observe irrigation construction compliance to plans.
Work independently or with a design team to complete projects.
Conduct site visits to assess existing irrigation equipment status.
Organize and conduct site visits with maintenance staff.
Expectations:
Work independently and self-directed.
Work full time (40 hours per week) with possible occasional overtime.
Manage the project team to ensure that client specifications and expectations are fulfilled.
Manage and coordinate multiple projects to ensure they are completed on time and on budget.
Must be able to work closely with staff to produce documents and deliverables.
Delegate work to team members based on skills and expertise.
Knowledge of irrigation regulations and guidelines.
Effectively communicate and coordinate with clients and team members through multiple channels (Phone, Email, etc.)
Coordinate with clients and project leaders to develop solutions for design problems.
Maintain project files, including correspondence, drawings, etc.
Be responsible for production and coordination of drawings and specifications, including consultant coordination.
Be able to work on a variety of projects simultaneously.
Work independently or with a design team to complete projects.
Attending virtual and possibly physical, project coordination meetings.
