PROJECT MANAGER
We are searching for a self-motivated and technical person. This position entails the development of conceptual designs, design development and construction documents for a wide variety of projects. The preferred candidate feels comfortable conducting presentations for a room full of people, or at a city council meeting. This individual will also be able to actively participate and be outspoken in project coordination meetings. Travel for work may be necessary.
Preferred Experience
Minimum of an undergraduate degree in landscape architecture.
A minimum of five to ten years of experience in the field of landscape architecture.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD (MicroStation is a plus)
Experience preparing construction documents including specifications and estimating.
Knowledge of irrigation design is a definite plus
Responsibilities:
Be able to legally work in California.
Possess a valid California Driver’s license.
Be respectful and courteous to coworkers and clients.
Strong organizational, time management, and verbal and written communication skills.
Expectations:
Work independently and self-directed.
Work full time (40 hours per week) with possible occasional overtime.
Serve as the liaison between the firm and client.
Manage the project team to ensure that client specifications and expectations are fulfilled.
Manage and coordinate multiple projects to ensure they are completed on time and on budget.
Review and track project budgets.
Must be able to work closely with staff and other project managers to produce documents and deliverables.
Delegate work to team members based on skills and expertise.
Effectively communicate with clients and team members through multiple channels (Phone, Email, etc.)
Coordinate with clients and project leaders to develop solutions for design problems.
Create presentations and reports.
Maintain project files, including correspondence, drawings, etc.
Maintain ongoing, positive client and consultant relationships.
Be responsible for production and coordination of drawings and specifications, including consultant coordination.
Be able to work on a variety of projects simultaneously.
Work independently or with a design team to complete projects.
Attending virtual and possibly physical, project coordination meetings.
Attending and conducting site visits.
Manage a design team of 2 or more people.
